I am a newcomer to the high school this fall, and my school required to complete 40 hours of community service, but I want to do more like 200 hours. What kind of volunteer work and community service will be better in the future on a college application?

org Proffit, if not with kids who want someone with their homework need help or someone to be friends to work with them if you want to work with the Red Cross to help people in need, whether the work in the hospital. essentially a process of taking care of something important, and would take, not only work in a cafe in the church or the children of free people. Or cleaning of garbage on the roadside, as the condemned. Find something with meaning and substance, something that can take a walk and expereience.
Volunteer in a hospital or an accommodation.
You really should volunteer your good heart, but. :)
